Uplifting the next generation of underrepresented creators

As Polish-Jewish immigrants from the Bronx in 1960, our founders knew what it was to be marginalized, but they had a dream to create the most indulgent and decadent ice cream in the world - and they did it.

Inspired by their story, our ongoing purpose is driven by our continued commitment to elevate underrepresented creatives and give them the opportunity to realize their dreams and share culture through their craft.

Since 2021, Häagen-Dazs has donated over $1.5M through partnerships with numerous nonprofit organizations, uplifting marginalized creative communities and highlighting emerging talent. We continue to support underrepresented creators in many different ways, from involvement in our campaigns on and off camera, to partnerships in our advertising and more.

Häagen-Dazs expanded its partnership with Allies in Arts (AiA) for the fourth consecutive year, as part of our broader campaign celebrating life’s slower moments.

We collaborated with three LGBTQ+ artists on large-scale mural installations in New York City, Los Angeles, and San Francisco. Each of the murals is inspired by new flavors and is designed to reflect the brand’s belief that true indulgence should never be rushed. Artists included Subin Yang @subinie94, Loveis Wise @loveiswiseillu and Alice Lee @byalicelee.

Over several years, Häagen-Dazs has partnered with She is The music to empower the future of women in music.  Most recently in 2024, we sponsored a full day of panels and workshops for 200+ college women that celebrate and support the future of women in music.

We’re also proud to have powered the Connect TogetHER mentorship program (2022) to foster new opportunities and mentorships for young women in music.

In 2023, Häagen-Dazs donated $500,000 to Anderson .Paak’s nonprofit, The Brandon Anderson Foundation as a commitment to supporting underrepresented creators across music, fashion, culinary and art and to engage the community through access to the arts and experiences.

ANDERSON .PAAK

Anderson .Paak is an 8x GRAMMY Award winner, producer, songwriter, artist and director. His passion for collaboration, experimentation and personal expression drives his music forward, as he seamlessly blends genres and pushes the boundaries.

We have partnered with LGBTQIA2+S artists within the Allies in Arts creative network to create unique murals placed in our out-of home campaigns and our shops. These murals have appeared in major cities in the United States – Los Angeles, New York City and Miami with the goal to provide these artists a national platform to debut their work.

In partnership with CFDA, Häagen-Dazs developed a ”ThatsDazs” inspired collegiate scholarship to aid the aspirations of four rising, underrepresented fashion students. Each candidate developed a TikTok video submission inspired by their personal definitions of luxury. Häagen-Dazs brand then selected four recipients each to receive a $25,000 scholarship.

In 2024, we also sponsored CFDA’s annual fashion awards, their biggest fundraiser of the year. Money raised at the event went towards CFDA’s efforts to support scholarships, diversity & inclusion, and sustainability within the fashion industry.

Join us as we continue to celebrate and support underrepresented creators with different projects throughout the year. Stay tuned!
