Every single Häagen-Dazs product is made with real, high-quality ice cream and ingredients you can pronounce. We source the finest ingredients from all over the world to bring you incredible flavor in every spoonful - Belgian chocolate, Madagascar vanilla, Brazillian coffee beans, California almonds and Pacific Northwest berries. You'll never find artificial flavors, preservatives, or colors in any of our products.
Most of our products are gluten free, with the exception of those that have bakery ingredients, such as cookies, cake, brownies, waffle cones and cookie dough. We recommend to always check the label for the most current information.
rBST is a hormone used to increase milk production in dairy cows. Our milk and cream are carefully sourced from cows that are not treated with rBST.
No significant difference has been shown between milk from rBST treated and non-rBST treated cows
Our U.S. retail grocery, club, and convenience store products are OU-D kosher, certified by the Kashrut division of the Union of Orthodox Jewish Congregations of America. Products at our Häagen-Dazs Shops are not necessarily certified kosher because of the utensils and other ingredients used to serve frozen desserts or drinks.
Many of our most popular flavors are made without GMO ingredients, including vanilla, vanilla bean, strawberry, rum raisin, chocolate chocolate chip, pineapple coconut, coffee, chocolate, mango sorbet, cookies and cream, cherry vanilla and chocolate peanut butter.
These flavors display a "No GMO" label on the packaging.
Our journey to transition out of GMOs is part of an ongoing effort, with our ultimate goal of phasing out GMOs from all of our products. Please reference your product's label to whether your favorite product is free from GMO's and visit www.sgs.com/no-gmo for more information about our verification process.
Yes. Eggs and milk are animal-derived and used in many of our products. We use honey as an ingredient in our Honey Salted Caramel Almond ice cream. Our sorbets are free from animal derivatives. We recommend to always check your label for the most current information.
In keeping with our philosophy of using only the purest ingredients, we use only naturally occuring stabilizers in our products, such as pasteurized eggs, pectin and citrus fiber.
Several Häagen-Dazs ice cream products contain alcohol, either as a key component of the flavor or as an agent to carry flavor. Each product contains less than 0.5% alcohol by volume.
Several of our Häagen-Dazs sorbet products are nonfat.

The nine major food allergens, including eggs, are always labeled on our packages by their common name. If an allergen does not appear in the ingredient statement, then it is not contained in the product. We recommend to always check the label for the most current information before purchasing and/or consuming a product.

All of our fruit is pasteurized using the high-temp/short-time method, which kills all of the bad bacteria.
All Häagen-Dazs ingredients (skim milk, whole milk, cream and egg yolks) are heat treated prior to delivery to our production facilities. Each Häagen-Dazs ice cream blend is pasteurized using the high temperature short time (HTST) method.
We do not have dedicated peanut or tree nut free lines or facilities. However, preventive controls are in place to avert cross contamination. These measures include allergen-changeover cleaning of our production lines and equipment and a strict separation of materials that contain the nine major allergens. Please refer to current label for the most accurate allergen information.
Häagen-Dazs products are best stored at home, unopened, at 0 degrees F (-18 degrees C). For extended storage up to the "best before" date, we recommend -10 degrees F (-23.3 degrees C) or colder, when possible.
When kept at the recommended storage temperature, Häagen-Dazs products are excellent through the "best before" date found on the package. A "best before" date is found on the bottom of each carton and end flap of the bar packaging.
To deliver the best flavor and texture, allow your Häagen-Dazs products to soften at room temperature for approximately 10 minutes, depending on the actual room temperature and the temperature of your freezer.
No. Because we make Häagen-Dazs products in the most natural way possible, Häagen-Dazs products should not be refrozen if thawed. Thawing and refreezing can create large ice crystals and cause undesirable textures or diminished quality.

Häagen-Dazs containers are not recyclable at this time, but it is the ambition of our parent company, Froneri, to make 100% of our packaging recyclable or re-usable. We plan to do this through eliminating non-recyclable plastics, encouraging use of plastics that allow for better recycling rates, and working to eliminate or change complicated combinations of packaging materials such as paper/plastics and laminates.
